Folic Acid + lodine pellet provides 500 ug folic acid and 150 ug iodine for using before conception, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of Neural Tube Defects (NTD), a birth defects which involves an incomplete development of brain and spinal cord in the developing fetus. As well as playing a role in the process of cell division, folic acid contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Folic acid also contributes to normal amino acid synthesis and normal blood formation. lodine is an essential nutrient needed in small amounts for bodies to make thyroid hormones. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding need extra iodine, which puts them at greater risk of deficiency. Iodine contributes to normal cognitive function and normal functioning of the nervous system.
